Daddy Donut Day

This was an interesting day. My younger son's school has a particular day set aside for the kids to spend time with their dad at school. I spent about an hour playing, learning about things they do daily, eating donuts(hmmm) and then hearing about some interesting things that the kids say about their dads.

Like: How old is your dad? What's his favorite thing to do?, The best thing about my dad?
Funny: Kids were saying my dad is 7 years old, 21 years old, 14 years old all the way to 86 years old.
Favorite things were to work, eat food, play games. Most kids said they loved their dad and loved when their dad spent time with them.

This was a great experience for both of us.

It's my Birthday

Can you imagine it was my birthday on the 24th and I hardly did anything. I went to work, my family called me, but I didn't mention it at work. That's sad. Then again, I think it was partly because I wasn't in the mood to hear "Happy birthday man" and partly because I forgot. Age is a bi**h huh. Anyway, I enjoyed the rest of the day with my wife and kids at home. I had a cake and nice delicious dinner with lots of kisses and hugs. Peace and hair grease till the next time.

MLK Day

I took off on Monday to observe MLK day with my boys. My older son, being that he's 8, is aware of MLK and the struggles he went through. I'm glad that he understands which makes it easier to have a meaningful conversation with him about these types of topics. The younger one 4, is not there yet. We spent the day watching some TV and afterwards going to the annually parade.

They enjoyed it a lot. We try to attend the parade every year and hope to keep the tradition going. Is the dream alive?
